La Leona
La Leona
This washed Caturra microlot from producer Luz Helena Salazar at La Leona in Armenia, Quindío, Colombia delivers a beautifully balanced cup with notes of caramel, apricot, cacao nibs, and mandarin. Grown at 1,400–1,450 meters in rich volcanic ash soil, this coffee undergoes a carefully controlled 30-hour underwater fermentation before being fully washed and slowly dried for 12 days. The result is a clean, vibrant profile with layered sweetness, lively citrus acidity, and a silky finish that highlights the elegance of the Caturra variety. This microlot showcases both meticulous processing and the unique terroir of Colombia’s renowned coffee-growing region.
